Come enjoy our family-friendly butterfly festival!

On Saturday, April 27, 2019, our museum will be celebrating all things butterfly. We’ll have butterfly gardening workshops, butterfly raising demos, live butterfly releases, arts and crafts, face painting, live music, and more! 

Local native butterfly chrysalis, butterfly-friendly plants, food, drinks, and adult beverages will be available for purchase.

Time: 10am – 5pm

Learn all about local butterflies, their favorite nectar plants, and how to build the perfect garden to attract butterflies. 

Local butterfly favorite plants, as well as local native chrysalis, will be available for purchase!

Learn about the life cycle of butterflies and how to raise your very own. We’ll share their favorite things to eat, habitat, and more!

Peer into the amazing world of the chrysalis chamber and watch as the newly emerged butterflies take their first flight into our tropical pavilion!

Join our staff for an unforgettable walk through our 7,000 square tropical pavilion filled with live butterflies. We’ll tell you all about our collection of plants and how we sustain this special habitat for our butterflies.

Butterfly Pavilion Sponsor-a-Plant

Be a forever part of our museum by donating a milkweed plant to be planted in our museum. Each donated plant will feature a label with its name and the name of its donor. Your donation will help enrich our habitat and help us share the awe of nature with local kids. 

Each milkweed plant is $5 to donate to the museum. You can also take one home for $10 and build your own butterfly garden!

Milkweed Seed Bomb Making Class 

Learn about monarch butterflies and their amazing life cycle. Our expert staff will show you how to make a seed bomb made out of milkweed seeds, the favorite snack of monarch butterflies! The seed bomb will be yours to take home and plant. We hope it brings many butterflies to your garden!

Have a blast with Pop-Up Play and make any kinds of wings you can dream up! We look forward to seeing your creativity in action.

Remember your visit to the butterfly pavilion forever with a one of a kind piece of jewelry. We’ll have wings and jewelry findings – you bring your creativity and create something amazing.

Available all day on the 2nd floor of the museum.
