Summer Camps
Your kids will remember the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion’s Summer Camp 2021 for the rest of their lives!
Campers will experience some of the world’s most exotic creatures. From educational animal encounters, to scientific demonstrations, to backyard ecological explorations and much more, kids will leave with an appreciation for the natural world that they will build on for years to come.

The Details
The programs are designed for ages 6-13. If your child is not within this range but you are interested in signing them up, please contact us for special circumstances.
Each session includes a week full of activities. Every morning, campers will interact with the camp director, with a focus on creatures from the our collection, demonstrations, and conversation time.
Every day offer a unique experience for kids to get hands on with exotic animals and get a deeper understanding of the life found in their own backyards!
Your Child Will Learn:

– Insect Life Cycles
– Insect Anatomy
– Arachnid Anatomy

– Taxonomy
– Adaptations
– Animal Safety (poisonous & venomous animals)

– Plants & Pollination
– Monarchs & Milkweed
– Beneficial vs. Pest Insects
Your Child Will Gain:
Over the course of the week, each camper will also complete the Junior Entomologist Program and earn a free annual membership pass for the following year.
This is all in addition to the memories they will make and their developed environmental knowledge, strategic thinking, and ability to handle animals/insects safely.
