Butterfly Pavilions RenovationsThe Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion has a whole new look!

We recently wrapped up renovations on all three floors, and couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. On the third floor, we pulled up and replaced all of the carpets, set up new displays for our habitats, painted the walls, and installed a sand sculpture that works with a computer. Now we can use a metal ball, which uses the computer to draw designs in the sand. How cool is that?

While the second floor still has some work to complete in the Nocturama, we have just unveiled a giant log that has habitats built into it, and have also renovated the layout of the habitats. The updates have created much more room for animal handling. Time to start taking out those tarantulas!

Finally, we finished up the pond in the pavilion. It looks great, and we can’t wait to welcome guests into the beautiful new space.

Check out the photos below to see some of the changes we’ve made. We can’t wait to see you at our new and improved facility! Click here for directions to the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion.
