We’re finally open!!! It’s been nearly a year of construction and the Butterfly Pavilion is finally open to the public. Now our culminated efforts are to ready to be shared and experienced.
Even though the facility is open, we’re not quite finished with it yet. We still have a lot of evolving to do! Several new displays and exhibits will be opening soon, like one of the world’s largest ferrofluid fountains. Google it! They’re amazing!
We also have some new special events lined up for Spring and Summer. Do you like yoga? How about rain forests? Would you like to do yoga in a man-made rain forest-like environment? This will be something you can do at the Butterfly Pavilion this Spring.
Thank you to everyone who attended the grand opening! It was a great success thanks to you.
We hope to see you this weekend or sometime in the future. Click here to contact the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion, and for directions to our facility.
Our interactive touch screen display in the Butterfly Pavilion is up and running. It still needs some tinkering, but right now you are able to view and manipulate 3D models of a Blue Morpho and Monarch butterfly. The 3D models were created using real butterflies, so each model is 100% anatomically correct.
Here is Tenzin, our first guest to use the touch screen!
Yesterday was also his birthday! We hope you had a good one, Tenzin!
